Hawaii continues to Inspire and Renew

Another trip this last September to Kauai & Maui was a needed respite! I took a photo of this unknown woman to add to my beach and water series, I think it captures the moment when you have got it all adjusted and are ready to let go & convene with the lovely parts of nature: tropical fish & warm clear water!  TUNNELS Beach on the North shore of Kauai! I Shall return, keep the water warmed up for me!

My trip to KAUAI this Summer has provided a lot of inspiration; this is my 2nd feral rooster, the first one sold right away! I just take all kinds of photos and hope something will inspire me enough to paint it. I seem to be finding that people love the background patterns and textures.

I did a set!

I am very happy I was able to stay "on task" and do a set of four paintings with the same subject matter. Being a GEMINI; it's difficult to stay on the same painting-let alone four! Take a look at the slide show to see the other 3 and let me know what you think!

J & D & the 53

This one took a long time. From a snapshot I took last summer at my favorite SPA, Indian Springs! My work for 2011 is coming slowly, I attend an all day paint-in at the College of Marin on Fridays; this is where I am painting mostly. Good thing I have been busy with Real Estate! My goal is to step it up and paint more at home.

I did 2 paintings based on the trip to Santa Cruz this Summer, watching people in the water. These are not my first water paintings, I did a commission of a boat on the bay last year, I was really daunted by the wave on this one but I am very happy with the results. We have to keep doing things that challenge us, and frighten us, in order to grow. look for the partner to this one "California Girls"on the slide show.

Lincoln Park Ave

This was from a photo I took Last December, Lincoln Park Ave in San Anselmo; the residents put glass balls in the trees all down the street, the homes are all pre 1950's, and when you see it it looks like a movie set, AMAZING! This one was a big challenge! Whew, glad it's finished.
